Do you have any advice of what software to use ????? Yes, it is possible with something like Norton's DiskEdit. Since you have already repartitioned and that its doing a low level format, all it actually does is write zeros in the first few tracks of the drive which completely eliminates any boot sector virus.

computer has problem.. need 'expert' advice.. :)
Low-level formatting (or writing zeros across the entire drive) is what is needed, and you will be lucky to get away with less than 4-6 hours for the 4 drives! In practise I found that writing zeros over the boot sector has so far been sufficient in all cases (and I've been at it 16 years).

My advice would be to write zeros to the slave drive using a utility from the drive mfg. If you can't find one, I can email you one. Then, create a FAT32 partition of about 10gig on the secondary drive, within ME or from FDISK and run XP setup, booting from the CD. Do not allow it to set the partition as active,

I'd appreciate any advice on this. 1) Low level formatting is key. Spend the 24 hours doing it now. More problems have resulted from failing to do this than anything. Don't use FDISK, go to Maxtor ( or whomever) and download their utility to do low-level or write zeros formatting. 2) Copying shows is hit and miss.
